my apologies. kind of.

I’d like to begin this post by apologizing to my friends, family and boyfriend for what’s to come in the next month. On second thought– wait.

I’d like to begin this post again by announcing that I’ll be cranky and sleep deprived for the next month, but I don’t need to apologize because I’ll be spending all of my time between the office and the classroom and the library, and so they won’t be seeing me any way.

Guess what!
I started a new job today! (yay employment and bill-paying!)

Guess what else!
There is still a month of classes and papers and presentations left, and when you’re working 40 hours/week, there is precious little free time to think about much else.*

Case in point: it’s 9:10pm. I’m in the library. I still have a solid 2 hours of grad work ahead of me. I am going to be in my bed late and out of it early, and it is going to suck.

What am I doing right now, though? Blogging. I know what you’re thinking. Wasn’t she just complaining about not having any free time? But here’s the thing: I’m going to need something to keep me sane between stacks of paperwork at the office and piles of papers at school, and there isn’t much that takes me away from it all like writing something that doesn’t have anything to do with ethnography or Aristotle. And while I definitely intend to curl up and watch a movie or drink a leisurely cup of Matcha** in the next few weeks, those moments will be few and very far between.

In the meantime, I’ll be making a triangle between three towns to sleep, work, and study, and doing my best to carve out some time for a couple of those hobbies that are most important. Thanks for being part of one of them!

PS: Here’s another one– I’m working on my dear friend Marigrace’s wedding photos as often as I can! I went down to Georgia a few weeks ago to shoot the beautiful celebration of her marriage to Jim. I was blessed to be part of her big day!

*Have I mentioned lately that I’m working on a Master’s degree in Communication? It’s just occurred to me that this information might be useful/relevant to this here blog post.

**you’ll probably be hearing about Matcha some more soon. It’s a special Japanese green tea that I tried for the first time last week, and omg. It was love at first iridescent green sight.
